Angie and Dave married at National Arboretum on a sunny April afternoon… We felt truly honoured to be invited to photograph this wedding, especially returning to a city where Marty grew up and Dani spent years studying in. Despite both living in Canberra, We had never met until Angie introduced us in Melbourne… so this wedding was extra special for us because Folkstone would not exist if it weren’t for Angie! When it comes to weddings, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach – each couple has their own unique vision for their big day. For some, it’s all about the party and making sure their guests have a great time. For others, it’s a more intimate affair focused on family and close friends. And then there are couples like Vivian and Mike, who wanted their wedding to be a true reflection of who they are as a couple – modern, fun-loving and with a strong emphasis on family. Vivian and Mike had contacted us the month the pandemic hit us in 2020. Like many of our couples this year, their wedding was a long time coming!

Starting the day with traditional Chinese tea ceremonies at both family homes, we documented the sweet welcoming of these two lovers into each other’s families. After a grand church ceremony and bubbly exit as husband and wife, we made our way to the city for photos with the iconic Parliament House as backdrop.

The reception was held at Metropolis Events on the bank of the Yarra River- What a jaw-dropper of a location! The views from the nine-meter floor-to-ceiling windows are truly unparalleled, looking out to Princes Bridge, Flinders Street Station, and the floating Arbory Bar on the water, all set against the Melbourne CBD skyline.

Despite grey skies and stormy weather, Joey and Daniel’s big day had an atmosphere awash with love and not a hint of stress. The day started with a traditional tea ceremony at home, followed by tea ceremony part two at the rainy Eastern Golf Club. The indoor ceremony was framed by the Australian Yarra Valley hillside, and was officiated by the lovely Rebecca Mayo, who we had the pleasure of working with earlier this year.

It rained all through the mid-Summer day, with just a tiny 15 minute window of sunlight before the reception. (Just enough time to sneak in some dreamy couple portraits.) Shout out to Mae Mae who stole the show by being absolutely delighted by the torrential downpour during the ceremony.

After a drizzly early morning, the skies cleared for these two lovebirds. Xinyi and Yifei were married on the grounds of the beautiful Cameron Lodge in Mount Macedon, with their furbaby Choco the chocolate labrador right by their side. Thank you for letting us capture your intimate celebration!
