Mel and Dom married on a chilly Melbourne evening at the warehouse-turned venue Two Ton Max in North Melbourne. The day began with separate preparations, Dom at their home and Mel at Ovolo Hotel in South Yarra. The Ovolo was a stunning backdrop for a quirky retro first look and photoshoot, followed by an intimate tea ceremony in the hotel room. We stopped by the Hardimans Hotel for a quick drink and some snacks before walking over to Two Ton Max, where Mel and Dom’s closest friends and family patiently waited for their arrival.
Vivian + Mike | Wedding at Leonda By The Yarra
When it comes to weddings, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach – each couple has their own unique vision for their big day. For some, it’s all about the party and making sure their guests have a great time. For others, it’s a more intimate affair focused on family and close friends. And then there are couples like Vivian and Mike, who wanted their wedding to be a true reflection of who they are as a couple – modern, fun-loving and with a strong emphasis on family. Vivian and Mike had contacted us the month the pandemic hit us in 2020. Like many of our couples this year, their wedding was a long time coming!
Sharon + Leslie | Elegant City Wedding at Metropolis Melbourne
Starting the day with traditional Chinese tea ceremonies at both family homes, we documented the sweet welcoming of these two lovers into each other’s families. After a grand church ceremony and bubbly exit as husband and wife, we made our way to the city for photos with the iconic Parliament House as backdrop.
The reception was held at Metropolis Events on the bank of the Yarra River- What a jaw-dropper of a location! The views from the nine-meter floor-to-ceiling windows are truly unparalleled, looking out to Princes Bridge, Flinders Street Station, and the floating Arbory Bar on the water, all set against the Melbourne CBD skyline.
Meg + Will | Seaside Wedding in Mount Eliza
Theresa + Tony | Wedding at Manor on High
Two years of pandemic and several wedding reschedules later, Theresa and Tony were finally able to say “I do”. The day started with a traditional tea ceremony, followed by a heart-warming church ceremony at St John Baptist Church in Clifton Hill. Celebrations continued into the night with a reception at Manor on High in Epping. Thank you, Theresa and Tony, for trusting us to capture your love story.
Tim + Ali | Autumn Wedding at Cloudehill Gardens
This wedding was all kinds of magical. It was grey all morning and all eyes were on the rain radar leading up to the ceremony. Armed with a collection of umbrellas, no inclement weather was going to hold these two lovebirds back from saying their vows in front of their closest loves. The sky alternated twinkling showers with radiant sunshine all throughout the ceremony, making the vibrant autumn colours gleam with glittering rain drops. We loved everything about this wedding, and it takes on a special kind of significance as we’ve been photographing their various musical endeavours since 2016.
Thank you for trusting us, Ali and Tim.
Inno + Evelyn | Harbour Room St Kilda
In our first wedding back since last year’s hiatus, we were honoured to capture Inno and Evelyn’s sweet celebration. After months of postponement and reorganising their wedding, it finally went ahead, with a tear-filled ceremony at Newman College Chapel followed by a reception at Harbour Room in St Kilda amid stunning ocean views.
Shannon + Ciarán | Emu Bottom Homestead Wedding
Sam + Mikes | Summer Wedding at Lawson Lodge Macedon
One thing we’ve learned from photographing at Lawson Lodge over the last 3 years is that this venue is totally photogenic whether it’s sunny, overcast, or pouring rain. Sam’s native bouquet and floral arbor by The Floral Forager added just the right touch of Australiana to complement the rustic surrounds, fitting seamlessly alongside the personal touches (a custom-made neon light, a vintage velvet lounge suite, a copper-framed welcome sign).
Joey + Daniel | Eastern Golf Club Wedding and Tea Ceremony
Despite grey skies and stormy weather, Joey and Daniel’s big day had an atmosphere awash with love and not a hint of stress. The day started with a traditional tea ceremony at home, followed by tea ceremony part two at the rainy Eastern Golf Club. The indoor ceremony was framed by the Australian Yarra Valley hillside, and was officiated by the lovely Rebecca Mayo, who we had the pleasure of working with earlier this year.
Sarah + Mitchell | Lawson Lodge Wedding
Linda + Josh | Bramleigh Estate Wedding
Lisa + Luke | Wedding at Brunswick Park
The skies were a soft pastel blue the day Lisa and Luke got married. The Brunswick park near their home was transformed into a swirl of laughter, pizza, and music. There were tiny fur babies tethered to tiny human babies running around the grassy lawns, juice boxes in hand. The vibe was electric.
It was an honour being with you on your big day, Lisa and Luke! We loved every second!
Kira + James | City Wedding at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne
We knew at our first meeting with Kira and James that their wedding was going to be a sweet one. From the way they talk about their family and friends, to the way they calmly navigated their wedding day. Kira and James, thank you for trusting Folkstone to capture your story! It was a joy to be there.
Trelawney + Kaden | Sunny Kombi Wedding in Mornington
Trelawney and Kaden’s wedding day was dripping in sunshine. Our first self-confessed “Tinderella” love story was picture-perfect, complete with a Kombi named George, tear-jerking vows, a (perfectly Melbourne) post-ceremony coffee cart, a delicious tower of cupcakes and icecream cake to top it all off.
Vanja + Geoff | Sutherland Estate Wedding
Julia + Ken | Garden Wedding at Ballara Receptions
Julia and Ken married on a sunny Melbourne afternoon at the leafy grounds of Ballara Receptions, Eltham. We arrived to capture a giggly first look. A sweet ceremony followed, with matching vows, and stories that were more about Julia and Ken’s appreciation for their favourite people than it was about themselves.
Afterwards, guests were treated to an authentic Italian gelato cart, followed by good food, entertaining speeches… and the most epic surprise bridal party dance that left everyone in the room with a huge grin on their faces.
Dishana + Alvin | Stones of the Yarra Valley
Dishana and Alvin have travelled all over the world together, cementing a love of cultures, food, and, more importantly, each other. They married at the picturesque Stones of the Yarra Valley.
